Miss Bri is a local resident, who began her dance journey at the tender age of 2. Starting with Broadway Dance Company and advancing through Eleanor's School of Dance, she mastered various styles, including tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, and acro. Her commitment to dance led her to earn a bachelor's degree in psychology and dance from Ithaca College.
While at Ithaca, she was part of Unbound Dance Company and On The Floor Dance Company, where she created numerous dance pieces. She also proudly served as president of the Ithaca College Dance Team. After Ithaca, she continued her pursuit of knowledge, where she received a master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from UAlbany.
As one of Dance Me's original teachers, she brought her passion to the studio in 2015. Taking on the role of Competition Director in 2017, she led the competition team with award-winning choreography. Miss Bri actively participates in dance conventions and workshops, showing her dedication to character development and growth and instilling these values in her students.
In July 2020, she finally got to live her lifelong dream of owning a dance studio and became the new owner of Dance Me. Her journey is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance in pursuing one's dreams!
Miss Lexi is a performer, teacher, and award-winning choreographer. She graduated from The College at Brockport, State University of New York, with her BFA in Dance and BS in Kinesiology in 2016. She has been working professionally in the field ever since. Miss Lexi has performed extensively as a company member with New York City-based companies 7 Midnights Physical Research and Well Being Dance Company, along with many other free-lance projects throughout the United States. In addition to performing, Miss Lexi choreographs for competitive dance studios, producing cutting-edge routines with thoughtful storylines, seamless transitions, and creative movement material. When she’s not choreographing, she teaches technique classes to hone each individual dancer’s skills to build a strong foundation and unlock artistic expression to train well-rounded dancers. Lexi is very well-rounded as a dance educator; she has experience with each age and level in various dance styles, using her versatility to build unique dances and help the students she teaches as much as possible.
Miss Katie started dancing at 3 years old and continued through her graduation. She joined Dance Me the first year it opened and was a part of the competition team for 6 years. Miss Katie is a title holder and has won many awards in her competition years. She has also choreographed many award-winning routines. She has trained in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary and lyrical styles. However, hip-hop, jazz, and lyrical are her favorites! Miss Katie can't wait to continue creating and sharing her love of dance with upcoming dancers!
Schenectady, NY, is the hometown of Miss Brenda, who has been dancing since the age of two. Throughout her childhood, she participated in national dance competitions and was a member of both her high school and college dance teams. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Miss Brenda is passionate about sharing her love for dance.
She holds a dual bachelor's degree in Psychology and Communications from the University at Albany and has also taken master's classes in law at Columbia University. During her college years, Miss Brenda taught tap dancing to Alzheimer's patients, further highlighting her commitment to accessible choreography and inclusion in her dance classes. Additionally, she is certified in Zumba, Yoga, and Chair Dance Yoga.
Miss Emily has been dancing since she was 2 years old and has studied many styles, including tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, and acro. She is attending SUNY Oneonta to study Early Childhood Education. Before becoming a teacher, Emily assisted in dance classes and helped out at summer dance camps. Emily was a very successful member of the Dance Me Competition Team, having received many awards and titles for her performances. Miss Emily is super excited and is looking forward to a great year ahead!
Miss Emily D. has been dancing and performing since she was 3 years old and has studied many styles, including tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, hip-hop, and gymnastics. She was a competitive dancer for 10 years, and her choreography has won several top awards, including Dancer of the Year, Overall Highest Scoring Choreography, and many Titles. She is also an award-winning vocalist! She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from SUNY Brockport and is also on the dance team.
Miss Emily D. has been teaching dance for the last eight years, both recreationally and competitively. She is extremely excited about joining the Dance Me family and looks forward to a great year ahead!
Miss Kristin began Irish dancing at age 5 with Donny Golden at the Donny Golden School of Irish Dance in Mineola, NY. She started her competitive career at the age of 6 and competed at the regional, national, and world levels in solo and team competitions. Throughout her solo competitive career, Kristin went on to win the Mid-Atlantic Regional Oireachtas and place within the top 50 at the World Irish Dancing Championships. Miss Kristin has also performed with bands such as The Chieftains and Cherish the Ladies, as well as in venues such as Carnegie Hall. After retiring from competition, Kristin became a certified Irish dance teacher, TCRG, through An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha.
Kristin holds a Bachelor's degree in Childhood and Special Education from SUNY Geneseo and a Master's degree in Literacy from the University at Albany. She works as a fourth-grade teacher in the Cohoes City School District throughout the year.
Miss Maegan started dancing at age 3, focusing her training solely on ballet at the age of 5 with Myers Ballet School. With her passion and love for ballet, she was up on pointe by age 9. Maegan has also been a part of the affiliate company, Northeast Ballet Company. She has danced in their production of The Nutcracker at Proctors Theatre for 12 years, having performed lead roles, including Dew Drop and Marzipan Lead. She also has performed George Balanchine’s Sugar Plum Fairy variation in a separate production of the company. She has performed in other events such as Saratoga Performing Arts Center’s Festival of Young Artists, The Melodies of Christmas at Proctors Theatre, and Albany Symphony’s The Magic of Christmas at the Palace Theatre. She was a student rehearsal assistant at Northeast Ballet Company as well as student teaching ballet and pointe classes at Myers Ballet School.
Miss Maegan graduated from Guilderland High School and is now attending University at Albany for secondary education. She cannot wait to start teaching at DanceMe and share her love for ballet with the younger generation!
Miss Deb is a vibrant and dedicated force behind the scenes at her daughter’s dance studio, where she brings her passion for helping others to life. As a retired registered nurse, she expertly manages the studio’s day-to-day operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that the young dancers feel supported and safe.
Known affectionately by everyone at the studio, Miss Deb has a special knack for creating a warm and nurturing environment. Her desk area, humorously dubbed "Miss Deb's Daycare," has become a favorite hangout for the little ones, who love to gather around her for fun and encouragement. Whether it’s organizing costumes or lending an ear to students in need, Miss Deb’s heart and dedication shine brightly.
Outside the studio, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new hobbies, and cheering on her daughter and the talented dancers. With her extensive experience in healthcare and her unwavering commitment to the arts, Miss Deb continues to inspire everyone around her, proving that the best superheroes often work behind the scenes.
